Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to Colombia, Communa 13
Private transportation will take you from the airport to the hotel.
Medellín, 25 years ago, was one of the most dangerous cities in the world. Today, the city of “Eternal Spring” is one of the most innovative metropolises in the world. Let’s learn more about this spectacular transformation by discovering the Comuna 13 neighborhood and its street art, which gives us an insight into daily life in this area rich in history, and makes us understand the importance of urban art for social communication and identity.
Day 2
Guatape
Today we visit the surroundings of Medellin: the famous El Peñol rock, where from the top of its steps we discover a landscape of uncommon lagoons, and the village of Guatapé, classified as a natural and environmental heritage. Return to Medellin in the late afternoon.
Day 3
Medellín – Nuqui
A car will take you from the hotel to Medellin EOH airport. Reception at Nuqui airport and transfer by boat to the beaches of Guachalito. Check-in at the Eco-lodges El Cantil. The hotel offers a real paradise for all nature lovers, travellers looking for peace and quiet and a change of scenery. Lunch on the beach of El Cantíl. Then we go for a guided walk to discover the surroundings, which will take you to the “Cascada del Amor” passing by totally virgin beaches. Return to your Eco-lodge located in front of the Pacific Ocean.
Day 4
Los Termales – whale watching
This morning we go out to sea for the first time, accompanied by the hotel guide, in search of humpback whales. On board our lancha, we are offered a privileged viewpoint to admire the whales. The imposing mammal is a regular visitor to the Chocó region: adept at warm waters and weak sea currents, the whales have made the Gulf of Tribugá their breeding ground.
Lunch on El Cantil beach. In the afternoon, our guide takes us on a short hike to the village of Termales via the Rio Terco. During the walk we have the opportunity to bathe in the relaxing thermal waters. Back to the Eco-lodge at the end of the day.
Day 5
Humpback whales
Today, a second sea trip is planned to continue our whale watching. Always accompanied by our guide, we are close to the whales and if we are lucky, we will be able to observe them jumping out of the water, an image that will surely mark your stay in Colombia. Lunch and dinner at El Cantil Beach. Free afternoon to enjoy the activities offered by the hotel (additional cost) such as diving or surfing.
Day 6
Nuqui – Cartagena
Return to Nuqui by boat and transfer to the airport.
In Medellin, a car will take you from Medellin EOH airport to JMC airport for your flight to Cartagena.
Day 7
Walking tour Cartagena
We will then follow in the footsteps of the famous pirates and let ourselves be surprised by the “Pearl of the Caribbean”, a city with a mixed and exotic heritage whose cultural richness cannot fail to amaze us. This excursion along the streets of the beautiful city of Cartagena takes us back to the colonial era, with its colourful houses and lively parks. It is an opportunity to go back in time and relive some of the most important moments in the history of the city, the second Spanish stronghold on the South American continent. Cartagena has been repeatedly attacked by pirates, the most famous being Captain Francis Drake! Let’s discover its beauty and witness the past.
