The arrival to Chingaza National Park is a good opportunity to discover the Paramo, a unique ecosystem of the high Andes Mountains. A 4×4 tour to enjoy beautiful landscapes with great biodiversity. The paramo is one of the most emblematic ecosystems in Colombia. We will also enjoy the high Andean forests, while we learn about the efforts made by local communities to contribute to the conservation of the Spectacled Bears. A route with an altitude range of 4100m to 2400m, these characteristics will allow us to go in search of wildlife in varied habitats that surprise us during this visit of 3 days and 2 nights.

Day 1
Chingaza National Park – El Palmar Natural Reserve
Transfer from Bogota to Chingaza National Park. 4WD tour through the Paramo to the El Palmar nature reserve, a family project where camera traps are used for the conservation of the Spectacled Bear. In the morning a walk along the Sendero La Palma (hiking), to meet the wildlife and then a briefing on the progress of the conservation project, you will be amazed at what the camera traps have captured. In the afternoon, transfer by 4WD to Monterredondo Refuge, during the tour you will enjoy the landscapes of the paramo while you have the opportunity to wildlife watching. Assistance in 4WD and expert guide in local fauna.
Day 2
Round trip to Laguna de Chingaza
Round trip to Laguna de Chingaza, to explore one of the most impressive natural parks in Colombia, in search of spectacled bears, eagles, condors and white-tailed deers. In the morning, transfer to Chingaza lagoon and hike the Plantas del Camino trail. It is an immersion in the paramo ecosystem that surrounds this beautiful lagoon. In the afternoon, hike along the Suasie trail, an encounter with the majestic Andean forests and moors, their sounds and shapes, preceded by a spectacular view of the Chuza reservoir.
Day 3
Laguna Seca – back to Bogota
On the way back to Bogota, we will visit the Laguna Seca trail (hike, 1.85 km, 1h30). Its main attractions are the Laguna Seca and Laguna Verde, these waters supply the city of Bogota. Area with a large amount of frailejones (emblematic plant).
