Detailed Itinerary

Day 1
Between desert and Caribbean
Departure from Riohacha by 4-wheel drive to Cabo de la Vela. On the way, stop in Uribia, the indigenous capital of the country, then discover the Manaure salt production and pass through the Carrizal Desert. Lunch in Cabo de la Vela. Time to “climb” the Pilon de Azúcar and then have some free time on the beach of Ojo de Agua, and amazing sunset from the lighthouse. Dinner and accommodation in a hammock in a traditional posada.

Day 2
Bahia Honda et Punta Gallinas
After breakfast at Cabo de la Vela, we set off toward Punta Gallinas, crossing the vast and endless landscapes of La Guajira. Along the way, we pass through the Jepirachi wind farm, sweeping desert plains, and the striking scenery of Bahía Honda. We stop for a refreshing swim at Taroa Beach, followed by lunch and a moment of relaxation in hammocks facing the ocean.
In the afternoon, we explore the impressive dunes of Taroa, where the desert flows directly into the sea. The day ends at the iconic Punta Gallinas lighthouse—the northernmost point of South America—where we take in an unforgettable sunset, before dinner and a night under the stars.

Day 3
Macuira and the dunes of Taroa
The day begins under the sign of sea and sunshine as we set off toward Playa Mayapo to enjoy its crystal-clear waters and one of the most beautiful beaches in the region. Along the way, we stop at the Cáceres viewpoint to take in spectacular panoramic views. At lunchtime, we head to Uribía, the Indigenous capital of Colombia, where we enjoy a traditional meal immersed in Wayuu culture. In the afternoon, we return to Playa Mayapo for a relaxing time of swimming and leisure, before settling into comfortable hammocks facing the sea at the end of the day.

Day 4
Bahía hondita
In the heart of Wayuu territory, we enjoy a meaningful encounter rich in exchange and tradition. After breakfast in Mayapo, we set off to visit a Wayuu ranchería for an authentic immersion into their way of life. Throughout the morning, we discover their culture, rituals, customs, and beliefs, including traditions related to marriage and conflict resolution. The experience continues with traditional Wayuu dance, a tasting of Entayaa, the welcoming drink, body painting with Ulisha, and a presentation of local handicrafts. After sharing lunch at the ranchería, we return to Riohacha, marking the end of this adventure.
