Day 9

Nueva Venecia – Taganga

This morning, we present you another exclusive light unknown to tourism, and reserved for the rare photographers. The authenticity of this place is so pure that we hesitate to name it directly. Suffice it to say that it is a fishing village on the water of a huge lagoon filled with beautiful sea birds. We take a private boat to go first to the mangroves, then to the floating village to see the fishermen at work. If the school is open, we will take the opportunity to visit it. Then we will visit the Afro inspired Palafitos. In the afternoon, you will go to the town of Taganga. You will go down to the beach to watch the fishermen’s boats for a nice sunset photo.

Day 13

Mompox

Founded by the Spaniards in 1530, the city of Mompox, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most beautiful gems of the colonial era. Despite this and its fantastic location on the Magdalena River, it receives very few visitors. It’s like having a giant living museum all to ourselves! This morning, we photograph people in the streets, visit a park or two, churches, a few houses of prestigious families, and workshops of local artisans. In the afternoon, we’ll meet on the beautiful grounds of the oldest part of the city with professional Cumbia musicians in costume to enhance our shots. They will help us create a striking visual art.

It will be difficult to leave, but we must do it! Early departure for Cartagena, arrival in the middle of the afternoon. The “Pearl of the Caribbean” is justly famous, rich in culture, colorful houses and lively plazas. Check-in at the hotel and refreshment before exploring the lively places like Plaza de los Coches, Bolívar Park, etc. Shooting will be largely free, but Tristan will use his charm to cajole locals into becoming impromptu models when he sees a particularly interesting opportunity. You are encouraged to use your own charm as well!

Day 15

Cartagena

This morning, in the legendary Cartagena, will be one of those photographic experiences that we always remember with emotion. We’ll hit the streets of the historic center while the tourists are still sleeping from the night before. Using the beautiful colonial buildings as a backdrop, we will have an exclusive chance to photograph the grace and colorful elegance of the Palenqueras, icons of Colombia. This is your chance to be as creative as possible on the street! This morning will include street dancing in the old town, the famous Getsemani neighborhood with its beautiful architecture. Free time until 5:00 pm, when we will meet for a farewell cocktail and farewell dinner
