Day 1

Mamey region

A 4×4 will take you along dirt roads and beautiful mountainous sceneries to El Mamey, where you will have a nice lunch to prepare you for this trek along the Sierra Nevada. You will begin your walk to Camp 1, Cabaña de Adan, a peasant community living in the mountains.

Day 2

Mutanyi and Buritaca river

A visit to the Mutanyi indigenous community will be the first stop of an 8-hour walk through incredible natural sceneries. You will enjoy the sound of nature and observe a variety of animals in their natural environment. Your hike will end at Cabaña Paraiso, an indigenous emplacement at the foot of the sacred Tayrona city of Teyuna, the famous Ciudad Perdida, where you will bathe on the calm waters of Buritaca river.

Day 3

Ciudad Perdida

A hidden archaeological wonder built in 7 a.c by the Tayrona civilization, Ciudad Perdida is an urban structure that has lasted through the ce nturies. You will go back in time to experience another culture, walking through their stairs and houses and feeling the peaceful silence of their sacred centers. A Mamo (spiritual leader) will share the beliefs and knowledge of the Tayrona people, bringing you closer to their fascinating history.

Day 4

Honduras

A whole day dedicated to exploring the lush nature of Sierra Nevada. You will bathe on crystalline waters that come straight from the tallest snowy peak in Colombia. Magnificent waterfalls hidden by a copious jungle attract a variety of animals that will surely amaze you. Just you and nature for an incredible hike.

Day 5

Machete Pelao

The final day of this trek. You will come down from the mountain ranges, calmly taking in the beauty of the landscape. You will finally get to Santa Marta for a deserved rest.
