Armenia is the capital of the department of Quindío and is also known as the coffee capital. The city was founded on 14 October 1889. Due to its rapid urban growth, it has been called the “Miracle City”. The region has developed a network of rural tourism, where travellers can holiday in fincas or haciendas amidst coffee and banana plantations. Armenia has one of the most beautiful botanical gardens. The temperature varies between 18°C and 28°C throughout the year.
Quimbaya is a small village located in the department of Quindio. It was founded in 1914 and owes its name to the pre-Columbian culture that existed in the area. The climate is warm and the landscape is majestic. You can see lagoons, forests, wildlife refuges, quebradas and waterfalls.
