Day 1

La Tagua

Departure from your hotel early in the morning towards Minca, a picturesque village located at an altitude of 650 meters. You will have some time to walk around the village before heading into the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Shortly before arriving, you will visit Señor Ortiz’ coffee plantation and learn more about organic coffee production. Once the visit is over, you will head to Finca Maria in the village of La Tagua, the starting point of the walk leading to Finca Santa Elena (this hike lasts about 1h30). Arrival at Finca Santa Elena and time to settle in. Welcome drink and typical Colombian lunch. Visit of the surroundings, and beautiful sunset with a view of the mountains, the Ciénaga Grande and the Caribbean Sea. Dinner and overnight at the farm.

Day 2

Viewpoint of Cerro Kennedy

You will need to rise very early to watch the sunrise over the Sierra Nevada and observe the snowy peaks while enjoying a delicious cup of organic coffee from the Sierra Nevada.
Traditional breakfast. The walk begins on private trails (4.5kms) = (3 hours walk) (medium difficulty) to reach the top. A viewpoint of the Sierra Nevada, located at 3,100 meters above sea level will provide you an excellent panoramic view of the mountains, especially on the snowy peaks of Bolivar and Colon. The walk takes different paths for a more diverse trek, crossing streams, water sources, giving you the opportunity to observe many endemic birds living in the region. Return to Santa Elena farm for lunch. Free afternoon to relax and enjoy the place.

Day 3

Panku waterfall

To start your day, you will have an amazing view of the snow-capped peaks while enjoying a typical Colombian breakfast. Along this beautiful hike, you will walk on a path along a number of neighboring farms that then leads to the sacred waterfall of Panku, where you will enjoy a refreshing swim. Free time to take pictures. (Hiking 2.8 km in each direction). Return back to Santa Elena for lunch and hike to the escudo through a fairy forest. Back to Santa Marta around 16h30.
